Employment & Self Employment

Southside Partnership DLR offers a range of services, in a variety of locations, to support our clients back into employment.

Southside Local Employment Service (LES) is a community initiative of Southside Partnership DLR established to assist people who are unemployed. We support clients of the service to secure employment or develop work-related skills by creating individual education and training plans that progress them into the workplace.

From January 2010 to December 2015 Southside Partnership has helped 1,625 unemployed people to create jobs for themselves and become self-employed

Local Employment Service Becoming Self-Employed

The Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme (SICAP) is a programme aimed at reducing disadvantage and poverty in Ireland. Part of this programme is designed to support people back to work, self-employment, education or training.

Community Engagement

Working with geographical communities and communities of identity and/or interest, our programme aims to build the capacity of community groups by providing mentoring support, technical assistance and training and development opportunities for volunteers, members of the wider community and core staff to design and deliver services which meet local needs.

Children, Young People & Families

Our work with children young people and families focuses on supporting parents, communities and providers to provide nurturing and stimulating environments for children, with a focus on prevention and early intervention.

Through our work with the community and relevant services we promote programmes in the earliest years of life. The aim is to build the capacity of parents and providers in our targeted areas to provide direct services which enable children 0 – 18 years to grow socially, emotionally and educationally. We also work with partners to share resources and skills resulting in integrated preventative strategies to combat social exclusion.

Southside Partnership DLR

We are now operating in a new local government landscape, a changed funding environment and we have to deal with the challenges that recent years of austerity have presented for the communities that we serve.

However, the Partnership’s long experience of involving people and groups in discovering their own solutions is still at the centre of how our supports are developed and delivered. We continue to oversee a wide range of interconnected programmes and hosted projects that are tailored to the needs of those whom we support.

 More about Southside Partnership

Southside Partnership DLR is a well-established local development company operating in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown, County Dublin.

We work with a variety of agencies and organisations so that individuals, groups and communities can find ways to bring about positive change and create more hopeful prospects for people who experience unemployment, poverty and social exclusion.

Established in 1996, the Partnership has adapted and changed over the years, but we have continually stayed true to our ethos of working in partnership with others to support the people and communities who are in some way marginalised in our society.
