AGE FRIENDLY RECOGNITION AND ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

In our recent Digital Newsletter, we outlined the details of the Garda Mobile Support Service. The service has been introduced in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown in association with Southside Partnership's Care & Repair service. The Garda Mobile Support Service assists senior persons who are unable to make their way to their local Garda station.

It is a service that provides advice and/or the necessary stamping of documents at their homes, care homes or hospitals.

At the Age Friendly Recognition and Achievement Awards Ceremony held in Fitzpatrick's Killiney Castle Hotel on Tuesday 24th May, the new Mobile Support Service won the Age Friendly Safety & Security Award. Southside Partnership was acknowledged as the key enabling partner contributing to the success of the service, by Sargent Pat McDonald, Community Garda, Blackrock.

The award was presented to Sargent Pat McDonald and Tim Reidy, Tus Team Leader, Southside Partnership Care & Repair Service, by the Assistant Commissioner Jack Nolan, who said that the service was a model that could and should be rolled out nationally. He thanked Southside Partnership for our support in developing and promoting the project in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown.

Congratulations to all involved!
