    Southside Partnership, the DLR Drug and Alcohol Task Force and the DDL ETB are hosting their third Youth at Risk Network meetings on Thursday, November 23rd, in the Harbour View Business Centre in Dun Laoghaire. The workshop is aimed at persons who work with Youth at Risk in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown.     A wellness work shop will be held at the Ballybrack Project Centre on Monday 27th November 2017 from 10am - 1pm. This workshop organised by Suicide Or Survive (SOS) in conjunction with Southside Partnership and Mens Sheds Association is free of charge. The workshop can be of benefit to anyone who is interested in looking after their mental health and wellness.

    Freeda, (Free from Domestic Abuse),  supporting women against domestic abuse, is hosting a fund-raising event,  “Dancing in Her Shoes”,  as part of The 16 Days of Global Activism against Gender-based Violence

    “Dancing in Her Shoes” , a midday 80’s/90’s Disco is  a social event that provides information and is also fun.
     
    The event takes place in The Lexicon (Dun Laoghaire) on Wed 29th Nov  2017  from 12.00 noon -2.00pm.
     
    Dancing brings people together and Freeda aims to bring our community together to help stop domestic abuse, assisting women to stand up for them selves, to uplift and inspire.

    Southside Partnership DLR are organising a talk on cyberbullying by John Wills.

    The event will take place on Dec 5th 2017 from 10am-12pm at Mounttown Community Facility

    The talk will cover the following:

    - Understanding what APPS are being used by children and how they work

    - What steps can be taken to keep children safe online (Exploring the Strategies)

    - Managing Challenging online content (Photography & Sexting)

    - Cyberbullying (what it is and how to spot it)

    - Setting boundaries around the internet

    - Working with the school if a problem arises

    - How to tackle cyber bullying

     

    John Wills has over 10 years of professional experience in training in the education sector and has delivered trainings in both primary and secondary schools in relation to mental health, bullying, cyber bullying and internet safety.

    His recent training on Digital Citizenship and Safety has been endorsed by the Irish Primary Principals Network (IPPN). He is a member of the Psychologial Society of Ireland as well as the Teaching Council of Ireland.
