Supports to Labour Market Participation
Community Employment
This strategy has been prioritised to positively exploit the benefits which accrue to Community Employment participants (e.g. acquisition of new skills and knowledge, growth in self-belief and self-confidence) and the important role which these schemes play in the delivery of community services at a neighbourhood level. This type of intervention is often an important pre-cursor to people securing mainstream employment.
The strategic objective is to maintain the Community Employment scheme, PICES, which is currently managed by the Southside Partnership and to lobby against any reduction in Community Employment places within the Southside Partnership area.
