The partnership works to identify new employment opportunities for people from target communities and target groups who are experiencing difficulties in securing mainstream employment. This sector represents another labour market option for unemployed people and the Southside Partnership DLR is focused on the development of the Third Sector economy (community businesses, social enterprises etc) as a mechanism for creating employment and for delivering services, especially within disadvantaged communities/areas.
This strategy involves the provision of support, advice and training to existing and new enterprises with the objective of developing the Third Sector within the Southside Partnership DLR area. In turn this will generate more likeminded enterprises and local opportunities for employment within this emerging sector.
