Southside Partnership / WHO WE ARE
You are here : Home / About Us - What We Do

Local development is a new way of working within communities. It's based on real partnerships between dedicated community groups and volunteers, on the one hand, with state agencies and local government. The net effect is that new solutions, led by local people, can be found for important social problems.

Partnership is not the solution itself - local action is. The role of Southside Partnership, however, is to bring local leaders and agencies together to discuss and analyse issues in order to take action. It is through constant dialogue, exchange of ideas and resolution of inevitable conflicts that Southside Partnership helps local people change their living conditions for the better.

Southside Partnership provides staff, financial and technical support to help strengthen the resources of a community and enable them to take charge of their own future.
